Africa Interactive reporters use mobile phones or digital camera's to make great Simple Video Reports. Once interviews and filming are done, the reporter writes a short text and upload the videoclips to the Africa Interactive servers.

IICD

For IICD we produced a video about a project for farmers in North-Ghana where price information about their crops is provided to them via text messages on their mobile phone.

Source Connection

For Source Connection we produced a video about their drinking water project in the South of Zambia. This Amsterdam based NGO used the video during a fundraising dinner in November 2009 and collected 17.000 euro.

Solarix, biodiesel project in Kenya

For Solarix we produced a video about their project Kenya Eco Energy. Solarix delivers installations which - through a unique technique - process residual fats and pure vegetable oils (PVO) such as rapeseed oil, palm oil and soybean oil into biodiesel. Solarix combines practical and theoretical know-how in the fields of biodiesel technique, agriculture and management.

Rainwater Harvesting Implementation Network

For Simavi we produced this video about New Energy, one of their partners in Tamale, Ghana. This video will be placed on the Play it Forward website.

For the online business community KLM Club Africa we produced this video about the modern Murtalla Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 in Lagos, Nigeria.

For the Dutch Agency for International Business and Cooperation (EVD) we produced a video about a company in Rwanda that is looking for investors.

Akvo.org - Aqua4All

For the Akvo.org website we produced a video about the Daryeel Foundation Burao in Somaliland. This partnerorganisation of the Dutch NGO Aqua4All is focussing on sanitation projects in a refugee camp near Burao.

For Akvo.org we produced this video. Hygiene education is part of the curriculum at Osunyai Primary school some 6 kilometres from Arusha in northern Tanzania. However, the poor sanitation conditions prevent pupils and teachers from maintaining the minimum level of hygiene.

Schuttelaar & Partners: Ghana Elections 2008

We produced this video for the Ghana Election Night 2008, that was held on December 8th 2008 in Amsterdam. This event was organised by Schuttelaar & Partners.

The video shows people on the streets of Accra talking about the presidential elections of December 7, 2008.

Evert Vermeer Stichting: Angola Elections

As Angola was getting ready for the historic September 5, 2008 legislative elections, major parties are campaigning countrywide to try and win more votes. A fierce battled is expected between long-time rival parties, the ruling MLPA and the former rebel movement UNITA. Africa Interactive produced this video for the Evert Vermeer Stichting.

The Power of Culture: Training artists in Cameroon

For the website 'Power of Culture' Africa Interactive produced a video about young Cameroonians in the eastern city of Bamenda that are sharpening their artistic skills in various domains including music, serigraphy, painting, designing and carving. For Care International we produced a video about the Home Based Care project for HIV/AIDS patients they support in Livingstone, Zambia.

Nike 5 Showdown in Ghana

Africa Interactive worked with Nike to organize, launch and document the companies first launch into the African market. A football competition has been organized for 3000 Ghana teens. The event took place parallel to the Africa Cup of Nations 2008.

5 November 2008. Five of the Africa Interactive reporters went on the streets after the election of Barack Obama as president of the United States. The video shows euphoric reactions of people in Ghana, Congo DR, Ivory Coast and Kenya after hearing Barack Obama won. The video is an instant YouTube hit with more than 185.000 views.

Taxi torture in Kinshasa

9 November 2008. Since public transport in Kinshasa, DRC, is a chaos. Many people depend on taxi's to get around. There are too many people and not enough taxi's though. The result is that taxi drivers feel powerful and passengers have to suffer. View Africa Interactive reporter Emmanuel Pweto's video.

Somalia: 8 civilians killed, several wounded

10 november 2008. At least eight civilians had been killed after fresh clashes erupted in some parts of Somalia's capital Mogadishu. More than 10 people sustained various degrees of injury after this renewed hostility. Africa Interactive reporter Moh'ed Moh'ud Odowa reports.

Africa Cup of Nations 2008

21 January 2008. The Africa Cup of Nations observers converge that Ghana has organized one of the best edition ever given the enthusiasm and readiness of infrastructure. This video showed an over excited Ghanaian public, hours before the Ghana-Guinea match that Ghana won by 2-1.
